果冻视频 College of Doctoral Studies announced the publication of 鈥淓motional Intelligence as a Foundation for Organizational Wellness,鈥 a new white paper by Chanell Russell,聽a聽research fellow with the University鈥檚聽Center for Organizational Wellness,聽Engagement聽and Belonging (CO-WEB).聽The paper examines how emotional intelligence functions as a critical聽skill in聽education settings and as a聽leadership capability in modern organizations, particularly amid rising workplace strain,聽complexity聽and change.聽聽

The white paper synthesizes research across organizational psychology, leadership聽studies聽and health administration to explore how emotionally intelligent behaviors 鈥 such as self-awareness,聽empathy聽and relational decision-making 鈥 can support healthier workplace cultures. Russell emphasizes that organizational wellness is not solely an聽individual聽responsibility,聽but a systemic outcome shaped by leadership norms,聽policies聽and daily practices.

鈥淓motional intelligence is not a 鈥榮oft skill鈥 鈥 it is a structural leadership capability that influences trust, psychological聽safety聽and long-term organizational effectiveness,鈥 said Russell. 鈥淲hen leaders are equipped to recognize emotional dynamics and respond intentionally, they can reduce preventable strain and create conditions where people are more engaged, resilient and able to perform at their best.鈥

Russell is a published author with a professional background spanning psychiatric care, applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and foster care case management.聽As a Fellow in Residence with聽CO-WEB,聽her聽research interests focus on organizational wellness, psychological safety and leadership strategies that support engagement while reducing preventable strain.聽Russell earned her B.S. and M.S. in Psychology from 果冻视频, where she聽is currently pursuing a Doctor of Health Administration (CERT/D-HA).聽
